What is the Student Advisory Council?
The Stride Career Prep Student Advisory Council is a select group of K12-powered students from around the country who serve as advisors for their peers as well as brand ambassadors for Stride Career Prep and their schools. Through this paid internship opportunity, they provide valuable feedback and insight about their experiences with career readiness education.

Career Field: Information Technology
I'm, Jacolby Shinholster, a student associate for Alabama Destinations Career Academy (ALDCA), and here's a little bit about me. My favorite subjects are English and world history. I enjoy reading daily. I have a very active lifestyle. Walking and riding my bike on scenic trails, all the while listening to birds singing, are fun experiences for me. One of my favorite treats in spring and summer is working while gardening, growing succulents and flowers with my mother. I've also tried growing a few vegetables and that was also rewarding. Cooking is another favorite pastime of mine; I think cooking gives you a chance to show your creative side. Moreover, I like experimenting...creating my own recipes or different dishes. Family time is especially important for me. My family and I enjoy the following activities together: watching movies, playing baseball and volleyball, and working on vehicles. It's fun and exciting learning something new while at the same time preparing for the future. Now that you know me a little bit better, may we all grow together as a team.
